And one of the rumour was that India’s limited overs skipper demanded a whopping 40 crore for his biopic. The rumour was doing rounds all over and fans were criticising Dhoni for such an act.
But Neeraj Pandey, the director of the movie, has cleared the confusion surrounding the rumour. As reported in The Times of India, the director opined that the very idea of paying someone such a whooping amount is hard to believe let alone paying it. The director claimed that no producer would be willing to spend such a huge amount to get the right of a cricketer’s life story. He also refused to comment when asked about the fees the producers had to pay to secure the footage of Dhoni’s World Cup winning six against Sri Lanka. And he also refused to comment when asked about the role of the cricketer’s ex-girlfriend in the movie and said that he wants the fans to experience it for the first time during the movie.
