Former two-time World cup winning Australian skipper Ricky Ponting picked India as one of the dark horses to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. He thinks India will be one of the favorite teams of the ICC World Cup 2015. The four Tests and the tri series before the World Cup will be important for India. While India will be playing them, it must be remembered that Australia will also be playing them at home conditions.

He said in an interview that If India does not win the Test series it should not matter. The interesting fact though is that the Australians had lost five One Day Internationals (ODIs) going into the 2007 World Cup. They called the Australians ‘too old’ to regain their World Cup title but it does not matter what they say, it is about how good you are in the field. India has played very well, especially in T-20 and ODIs under Dhoni added Ricky Ponting.

There is no reason why they cannot beat them, he said. He also gave comments on Dhoni’s captaincy. He said it was difficult to judge from there. You can judge his batting, fielding, bowling style but you cannot analyze him on how well he handled the players in the dressing room and has he brought the best out of them? he insisted.
