Rohit Sharma Denounces Stone Throwing Incident on Australia Team Bus

The makeshift opener Rohit Sharma had come hard who are trying to bring the bad name to the country after a stone was allegedly thrown at Australia cricket team bus when the visiting players were returning to their hotel after beating India convincingly by eight wickets in the second game of the three-match Twenty20 international series.

Raged over the unfortunate incident which remarkably did not leave any of the team members hurt inside the bus, as the seat was left already vacant by the visiting side during their return from the stadium.

The experienced batsman Rohit took to micro-blogging website Twitter while stating the spirit of the game is above everything while hinting the winning and losing is the part of the procedure.

While urging the people to behave, Rohit revealed the citizens are far better what unpleasant incident reflected which eventually grabbed the eyeballs across the cricketing globe.

“Guys we are better than this… sport is more than winning and losing,” Rohit tweeted.

The incident took place soon after Australia equalled the series one each at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium at Guwahati in Assam which becomes eventually 49th venue for India to host the international fixture.

Active on the social media, the 30-year-old Nagpur-born Rohit quoted New18 video capsule, before making his statement.

The veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also tweeted about the mishap which further saw the apology from Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma while adding the culprits will be punished.

Moreover, the episode grabbed the headlines after Australian opening batsman Aaron Finch took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to read about the disturbing incident on Tuesday night.

“Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!,” Finch tweeted with the photograph of shattered window.

Pertinently, the similar incident scared Australian team when a stone was thrown at their bus during the second Test of the recently concluded two-match series in Chittagong.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue were bowled out for a paltry total of 118 which further saw the visitors chasing down the target in 15.3 overs when they lost both the wickets inside first three overs.

Australia were two for 13 in 2.5 overs, as Moises Henriques (62 of 46) and Travis Head (48 off 34) forged a 109-run partnership for the third wicket against a formidable bowling-up owing to the death overs T20 specialist in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

However, the middle-order batsman Rohit hadn’t good outing in the first two fixtures, as he would be eyeing to give a decent start to his side alongside left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan.

Rohit posted 11 in Ranchi and 11 in Guwahati so far which further saw him featuring in 65 T20Is for Men in Blue. He has a solitary century and 11 fifties under his belt in this shortest format of the gentleman’s game.

With T20 series levelled at 1-1, the series decider is scheduled at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday (October 13).
