The next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is bound to be an extremely grand one.
The reason behind that is simple indeed, as it marks the comeback of the most successful team of the tournament, after a two-year long hiatus. The Chennai Super Kings, led by the ever magnificent Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is all set to make a daunting come back into the tournament, post serving their two-year ban.
Apart from the Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals too will be making a return to the tournament after being temporarily suspended for two years. The reintroduction of two crowd favourite franchises means that there will be far greater interest and excitement for the tournament next year, with the majority of the players set to go under the hammer.
Before their ban, Super Kings were the most successful side of the tournament, making it to the playoffs in every edition. In the form of MS Dhoni, they had a captain who knew what it needed to precisely make his team the most successful side of all time. However, due to their owners being involved in fraudulent activities in relation to betting, the team was banned for two editions, leading to the players splitting up in different teams.
Now that the men in yellow are back, the league will be a far richer entity in their presence. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli, made a heartwarming gesture, by sending the Super Kings its best wishes on their comeback.
