The Madurai Super Giants continued their rough and patchy form in the tournament as they went on to lose their fifth consecutive game. They are yet to register their maiden win in the tournament.

They took on Ruby Kanchi Warriors in the first match of the day, after winning the toss they decided to bat first and put up a total of 135 runs on the board. Captain PS Chandran played a good knock of 53 in just 37 balls. The Ranji trophy player Arun Karthik was bowled for a duck on the first ball he faced. None of the batsman other than Chandran came up with an eye-catching a performance in the first innings.

Ruby Kanchi Warriors with a motive to chase down the target stepped on the field; their openers provided a good start sharing 40 odd runs for the first wicket. Bharath Shankar was the dominant force in the partnership as he contributed 37 runs out of 40 runs scored between two of them. He smashed 3 sixes and 4 fours. The succeeding batsmen cashed upon the good start and went on to chase down the target by 7 wickets with 15 balls still to go.

The Madurai Super Giants are still in the last position in the points table with 0 wins in their account. Ruby Warriors are in the second last position with two wins alongside their name.
