Rumana Ahmed and Khadiza Tul Kobra to Take Part in Women’s BBL

Bangladesh women’s all-rounder Rumana Ahmed will be playing in the Women’s Big Bash League along with Khadiza Tul Kobra after the duo was picked by Brisbane Heats and Melbourne Stars respectively. The skipper of the Bangladesh Women’s team, Rumana Ahmed and her teammate Khafiza will take part in the Australian Domestic T20 League. Rumana received a call-up from the Brisbane Heats wile Kobra will be wearing the Melbourne Stars’ jersey.

The Big Bash franchises have sent the jerseys to the players as a part of the process of contract. Meanwhile, the 3rd edition of the Women’s BBL will commence from December 9, and the final will be played on February 4. The Bangladesh cricketers will be joining their respective franchises in the middle of the showpiece event.

During an interview last year Rumana had revealed her desire to be part of the Women’s BBL and her dream would be realised pretty soon.

“I dreamt of playing in this league. This is a big tournament for women cricketers. There are a lot of good cricketers there,” she said. The Bangladesh women’s team have been improving and Rumana hopes to represent Bangladesh during the league and make the world take notice of the Bangladesh women cricketers.

As per reports Rumana will be heading to Australia on January 10 while her Bangladesh teammate and compatriot in the upcoming BBL will be flying on 16th January.
