One of the most talented youngsters from RCB Sarfaraz Khan said that he is waiting for a place in the Indian squad and that he believes that the IPL is one of the best chances for him to earn that place. Mandeep Singh, Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Singh who are also a part of this IPL have earned their spot in the Indian squad with some good performances in the league. Khan also felt that if he performs well in this IPL he will get a place in the Indian under-19 squad.
Member of the team of the tournament in the previous year under-19 world cup, Sarfaraz Khan scored 211 runs at an average of 70.33 and his best performance game against the rivals Pakistan where he scored a 70 to bring India to victory. This knock also earned him the Man of the Match award in that game.
Sarfaraz Khan who plays for the Bangalore franchise in this season of IPL said that AB de Villiers is his favorite player and that he idolized him. Playing for the same team, Khan said that AB de Villiers always helps him and that he always gives him tips. Khan added that ABD used to come to him and speak with him whenever he felt nervous and that such a gesture from such an accomplished player helped him release his nerves.
Khan also felt that the coach of the team Daniel Vettori has encouraged him to play his natural game and that he helped him concentrate more on the game.
Talking about the game against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, Khan said that after the loss of early wickets, the team decided that he would be the player to play till the 20th over and that this decision give him a lot of confidence and helped his team reach a good target. He added that the confidence he got from this game will help him in the games to come.
