Let out of the Indian team due to poor form, the Senior Openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir slowing finding out their form back. These Delhi openers guided their Delhi team to victory in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2014 with a good hand. With Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 7 to be begun in a couple of days, the franchises and fans will be happy.

In the 1st match of the North Zonal game for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2014 (T20 Tournament), Delhi was set a target of 135 by Himachal Pradesh to win. Sehwag who haven’t been opening recently had opened in this game with Gambhir. They gave their team a great start scoring a good pace and playing long. The both put on 82 for the opening stand in 11.1 overs before Sehwag was dismissed by Gurvinder Singh. Sehwag scored 42 off just 32 balls hitting 5 fours and a six in it. Gambhir on other hand fell to Akshay Chauhan giving a return catch to him at score 95 as second wicket. Gambhir scored 41 off 40 balls hitting 6 fours in the knock.

After these both dismissed, Unmukt Chand and Mithun Manhas fell cheaply but Veteran All-Rounder Rajat Bhatia and Milind Kumar ended the chase quite comfortably with 10 more balls to spare and Delhi won the game by 6 wickets.

Earlier Himachal Pradesh was invited to bat at their home ground Mohali, Chandigarh. Prasant Chopra and Paras Dogra solid innings moved the things for them. But Gangta and Rishi Dhawan powered them to a respectable total of 134. Ishant Sharma stared with the ball picking up two crucial wickets.

Gambhir has been passing through a quite good form and Sehwag looked good after his century for MCC XI. With these performances these both players will be hoping to perform in the IPL and get some attraction from the national selectors and make a comeback into the Indian Team.
