Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal Backs ‘Known Faces’ To Represent BCCI in ICC Meetings

With so much happening around the boundaries of BCCI, state associations advocate Kapil Sibal has voiced for well-known faces to lead the administration in future. During the hearing in Supreme Court on Friday (January 20), Sibal also said the board needs a proper participation at the ICC meeting, which is due to held to February 4th in Dubai.
Speaking to Times of India, Sibal said heading into ICC meetings without any familiar face, would not work well in the interest of Indian cricket.
“Sending someone new without the experience of having attended any ICC meeting will not be in the interest of Indian cricket. If you don’t send someone from the board who knows how it works at ICC, it would be detrimental to India’s cause.”
Sibal claimed BCCI would be losing a huge share of revenue pie if the right representative aren’t sent for the meetings, knowing the board contributes more than 70% of revenues earned by ICC. He further added that ousted BCCI bosses still want India to peruse its demand for 22 percent share of revenue at the ICC meeting in Dubai.
To this, the apex court insisted on the appointment of the administrators first, before looking into any other administrative suggestions.
