One of the fastest bowlers in world cricket of his time, Bond played a total of 18 Tests, 82 ODIs, and 20 T20Is. It was the injuries that had a significant impact on him and limited his career. He has though now turned his interest in coaching. He has worked as a coach with New Zealand cricket team and IPL franchise Mumbai Indians in the past, which produced favorable results for both the teams.
Bond will replace Kevin Shine in the role, who has been roped in by England Cricket Board (ECB) for the limited overs series against Windies.
There is a sudden need of a bowling coach in England circuit after the exit of Ottis Gibson from the post. He has been appointed as the Head Coach of South Africa cricket team, replacing Russel Domingo. Gibson has had few stints as bowling coach with England and various teams, but the former West Indies player decided to take up the job of Head Coach of South Africa.
