Shane Warne in his official Facebook account revealed his best England team in both Test and ODI formats. There were some major surprises as the Australian leg spinner left out some of the star names.

The best England team eleven according to Shane Warne:

G Gooch
M Trescothick
M Vaughan ( C )
K Pietersen
M Gatting
A Stewart ( WK )
A Flintoff
S Broad
G Swann
D Gough
J Anderson

Warne also mentioned that it was a tough choice to pick between the openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook. Although, Warne picked Trescothick ahead of Strauss he didn’t reveal the exact reason why he preferred Trescothick. Alastair Cook who is the leading run-scorer for England misses the list too which was a surprise, but again only the man himself know the reason. Warne also mentioned that the rest of them automatically fit the list which one couldn’t argue.

In the bowling department Warne opted for Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Darren Gough leaving out Harmison and Simon Jones saying it was a tough decision to make. The only all-rounder to feature in the list was Andrew Flintoff.

Warne, made this list considering the players he played against. Warne also said that he was unfortunate not to play against Ian Botham and he will surely be the best all-rounder the game has ever witnessed.
