The recently concluded series against Pakistan which ended in a white wash by Bangladesh has given them plenty of confidence and the young all rounder from Bangladesh Soumya Sarkar has gone onto say that Bangladesh would start the tour against India as favorites.

Sarkar who is 22 is a very good user of the new ball and has impressed one and all not only with his bowling but also with the technique and skill shown with the bat has played 10 ODI’s and two test for Bangladesh. He score only a single half century in the World Cup but has shown enough promise to keep his place in the side.

Ahead of the home series, he handed India a warning by saying that Bangladesh have been playing excellent cricket and will by no means be push-overs. Sarkar who is working hard on his bowling said that he trains hard to improve that asset of his game and that he is looking forward to playing India in the one-off Test match in the tour to prove himself against one of the best teams in the world.

He was also quick to accept that he threw away starts in the series against Pakistan and said that he was working hard on understanding when to leave the ball. He ended by saying that the if they continue playing the same quality of cricket as against Pakistan, that Bangladesh are sure to start the home series against the two time World Champions India.
