Sourav Ganguly Wants Virat Kohli To Play Three Spinners In Nagpur T20

After losing the first T20I against England at Kanpur, former India captain Sourav Ganguly has given a piece of advice to captain Virat Kohli to field three spinners for the second T20 match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur to level the three-match series.
“THE ONLY THING THAT I WOULD DO IF I WAS KOHLI IS DROP A FAST BOWLER AND PLAY A SPINNER.” GANGULY TOLD INDIA TODAY.
Cricket Association Bengal President Ganguly has suggested Kohli should drop a fast bowler by including the 34-year-old leg-spinner Amit Mishra to join Yuzvendra Chahal and Parvez Rasool.
“PLAY HARDIK PANDYA AND PROBABLY PLAY ONE OTHER FAST BOWLER, MAYBE (JASPRIT) BUMRAH, AND GIVE THE OTHER FAST BOWLER A BREAK AND DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO ENGLAND AND MAKE THE SPINNERS BOWL WITH THE NEW BALL,” GANGULY ADDED.
According to Ganguly, the big ground will help spinners rather than fast-bowlers.
“IT IS A BIG GROUND IN NAGPUR BUT IT IS A HIGH SCORING GROUND. THE GAME AGAINST NEW ZEALAND IN THE T20 WORLD CUP (EARLIER THIS YEAR) WAS A BIT DIFFERENT BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN THE PITCH TURN SO MUCH IN A T20 GAME AND I DON’T SEE IT TURNING THAT MUCH THIS SUNDAY EITHER,” GANGULY REVEALED.
However, in the series opener at Kanpur, the 37-year-old left-arm fast-bowler Nehra went wicketless after sending down three overs and conceded 31 runs at an economy of 10.33.
“CHAHAL IS DIFFERENT, HE BOWLS FLATTISH SO MAYBE HE CAN START WITH THE NEW BALL AND GET THE ENGLAND TOP ORDER BATSMEN TO THINK DIFFERENTLY”, GANGULY TOLD INDIA TODAY,” GANGULY REMARKED.
Kohli-led side would like to bounce back to win the crucial game after losing consecutive games against England in Kolkata and Kanpur.
“I THINK INDIA WILL HAVE TO FIND THE RIGHT BALANCE AS A BOWLING UNIT,” GANGULY CONCLUDED.
Kohli would aim to give his side early momentum to make things quite easier before picking the right team combination for the second T20.
On the other side, Eoin Morgan-led side would like to clinch the series after their dismal show in One-Dayers and Tests.
