A family source said that Ms. Ganguly was going to bring her daughter Sana Ganguly from school in a Mercedes-Benz when the accident took place on James Long Sarani.

“A loaded truck suddenly rushed from behind and hit the car from behind,” the sources said.

“Ms. Ganguly escaped unhurt. She did not suffer any injury. But the car is damaged,” the sources said, adding that a case has been filed with the Thakurpukur police station.

Police said that the driver of the truck has been arrested and the vehicle impounded.

Sourav Ganguly got married to his childhood sweetheart Dona Roy in 1997.
