Very batsmen can boast of showing the consistency with the bat that Virat Kohli has shown in the last few years. The huge void, that was created by the retirement of stalwarts like Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, has been filled exceptionally well by the Delhi batsman. And his game is getting better and better with every passing game.
Kohli has been in red-hot form this year. After giving a mesmerising performance in Australia earlier this year, he took the World T20 and the IPL by storm where he finished both the tournaments as its highest run scorer. And now the right-handed batsman has continued his sensational form in the ODI series against New Zealand as he played a match-winning knock of 85 runs to help India take a 1-0 in the five-match series.
Chasing 190, Kohli came to bat in the tenth over of the innings, after the dismissal of opener Rohit Sharma. And as soon as he came on the pitch, he started displaying his wide array of shots. The fans were spellbound with his classy shots and the one shot that mesmerised one and all was his cover drive. Throughout the innings, he played some brilliant cover drives and not only the crowd at the stadium but the millions watching the match on television were awestruck too with Kohli’s gorgeous cover drives. And one of them was playback singer Arijit Singh. The singer could not hide his excitement and tweeted:” How do you play cover drive so so so good in the world? #Kohli.”
