Axed former Indian Fast bowler , Shanthakumaran Sreesanth would soon be seen making his debut for Bollywood. It has been reported that he is all set to play a lead role  in Pooja Bhatt’s upcoming movie, “Cabaret”. The movie is directed by Kaustav Narayan Niyogi. The film is expected  to release in January 2015 and would also include Gulshan Devaiah in the star cast.

It has been reported that Sreesanth has signed Rs. 5 lakh deal for the movie. Movie portrays the life of a dancer in which, Sreesanth will be seen playing the role of a Malayali mentor and Richa Chadda will be seen playing  the role of a dancer.

Pooja  Bhatt was shown a picture of S Sreesanth’s wedding by executive producer, Sonu Lakhwani. During Sreesanth’s birthday celebration, Sonu Lakhwani was dropped at his residence by Pooja. During the celebration, his wife Nayan asked Pooja to come along and join  the celebration. After Pooja arrived, she was shown a video featuring Sreesanth’s wedding where she was impressed seeing him and said, “That’s my Chetta!”.

In an exclusive interview to PTI she said,”I met Sreesanth a day before his birthday earlier this month. I knew that he would be able to play the role of a Malayali guy, who mentors as a  dancer in the movie. I casted him on my instinct, Initially we had thought of casting someone who is older but when I had seen him  I felt he is perfect foil for the  role. “The character in the movie  is very close to his persona.. Sreesanth is a natural performer, he is not shy of the camera and I have a feeling that the film will do him good,”.

“Sreesanth speaks Hindi with a typical Malayali accent and that’s just what I was looking for.” His look in the movie is  same as that in his wedding picture which Sonu had earlie shown me. Having Sree in the film is a win-win situation for everyone of us, those who love him will watch the film, those who don’t love  him will also come to see him perform. He is at a very interesting phase in his career,” she added.

The 42-year-old director and producer, said that with the film, Sreesanth, who is banned by the BCCI for lifetime for his alleged involvement in the IPL spot fixing case, will be able to make a strong comeback. She also said that she had met him before, but Sree is a different person altogether today, he has gone through so much in his life. He has tasted the success and then he has  went to hell and now trying to come back. But there is still a lot of fire in him. I think he wants to prove to those people, who have written him off,” Pooja Bhatt said
