Pakistan Cricket has had some great days recently as international cricket returned to their home ground. Though against weak opponents, Pakistan gave their crowd enough to cheer about after a 6 year wait. Now they are all ready to travel to Sri Lanka where they will face a tougher test.
Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for a three match Test series. The Tests will be played in Colombo, Galle and Pallekele. It is set to kick off on the 17th of June. Sri Lanka will want to make sure that they give Pakistan a hard time.
The Sri Lankan board has already announced the team for the Test series against Pakistan. A 16 man squad was named and will be captained by Angelo Mathews. Kumar Sangakkara will also be a part of the series.
Lahiru Thirimanne and Jehan Mubarak are amongst the players who have earned a comeback into the Test team for Sri Lanka. They have gone in with a balanced side with Dilruwan Perera, Tharindu Kushal and Herath taking care of the spin department which has a vast amount of variety.
Pakistan have been in great form at home just brushing aside the team from Zimbabwe. They will be high on confidence as their batsmen have found some good touch in the short series at home. Their bowling however has left a lot to be desired.
They have not been able to trouble the Zimbabwe batsmen constantly enough and with Sri Lanka having plenty of batsmen who can make them pay all day long, Pakistan have to quickly improve on their quality of bowling.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have not had the best of the World Cup having been knocked out of the quarter final. They have not yet played an international match after the World Cup and will want to start the journey to the next world cup in positive fashion.
This makes this series between the two Asian giants an interesting and close battle.
