After a nail-biting win at Galle Sri Lanka is totally charged up. The second test match will be occurred at Colombo (SSC) at 14th August, 2014.
In the first match Sri Lanka played excessively well. Kumar Sangakkara is the name behind the success of the first match. He played the pivotal role in the match. He is in beautiful shape. So, he could be the key man of the next match. His tenth double-century that took him past Brian Lara and put him only behind Don Bradman‘s 12. Another big name who played a crucial role to win in the previous match. He could be another big name for the next match. But don’t forget about Mahela Jayawardane. In the previous match he played but not up to his mark. A phrase will suit perfect here that is ‘Form is temporary, but class is permanent’. This classy player could click at any time, maybe in next match. The bowlers have performed well in previous match, especially Herath and Perera. Herath took 9 wicket and Perera took 7 wickets in the previous match. Spinners Rangana Herath has bowled in excess of 400 overs in eight Tests in this ground, with a ground average of almost 40 considerably inferior to a career aggregate of 31.12.
Pakistan is not in very good shape. The Pakistani cricketers did not performed well in the previous match. Younis Khan’s ton saved the team from a big batting disaster. Except Younis Khan and Sarfraz Ahmed. You have surely forgot one reliable name that is Misbah-Ul-Haq, which could play a big role in the next match in Colombo. They should improve their opening partnership which is very unstable as seen in the previous, match. Middle order should be more concrete. The bowlers worked hard but did not clicked. Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan could be the key bowler in the next match.
Let’s see if Pakistan could win the match or Sri Lanka will register the test series in this match.
