After a comfortable victory in the 1st ODI, an upbeat Pakistan will be facing Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI tomorrow at Palekelle.
A brilliant all-round performance from Pakistan opener, Mohammad Hafeez, subdued Sri Lanka completely. Firstly he took 4 wickets while bowling, which included the dismissals of key Lankan batsmen Dilshan, Tharanga, Kushal Perera and Thisara Perara. Then he put up a brilliant knock of 103 which helped Pakistan to achieve a lead of 1-0 in the five match series.
This ODI series is very much crucial for the visitors as their hopes of qualifying for the Champions Trophy 2017, which will be held in England, resides on their performance in this series. If Pakistan manages to defeat Sri Lanka by a handsome margin, it will only improve their chances of qualifying for the elite tournament.
Just like in the first match, Pakistan will look forward to win the second match of the series also. In the batting department, they will have the services of veteran Shoaib Malik, skipper Azhar Ali, Ahmed Shezad and young Babar Azam. Their bowling attack will be spearheaded by Mohammad Irfan, who made a comeback to the team. He will be complemented by Rahat Ali, Anwar Ali and Yasir Shah, who starred for Pakistan in the Test series.
Speaking of the home team, they too have a decent batting line up consisting of the likes of Dilshan, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal. Their bowling attack will be led by Lasith Malinga.
