Sri Lankan cricket management has announced it’s squad for the away series against England . Angelo Mathews has been made the captain and Lahiru Thirimanne has been appointed as his deputy.

Currently, Sri Lankan team is playing the ODI seris and is currently tied at 2 each , with the final match being scheduled today. The major change has been the exclusion Of Suranga Lakmal , who is injured . In his place, Chanaka Welegedara , the left arm pace has been included. Interestingly, he played for Sri Lanka 18 months back. But, he is a good exponent of swing bowling and this conditions will just help him more.

Mahela Jayawardane has also made it after a lot of speculations were around that he might be omitted considering his poor run of form in the longer version.

Prasanna Jayawardane has been named in the side, which was expected because of his success in the past few years and Opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne has also made it there . Kaushal Silva, a young impressive batsman has also made it but middle order batsman Kithuruwan Vithanage has been omitted.

Karunaratne and Silva are most probable for the opening slot whole the experienced combo of Mahela Jayawardane and Kumar Sangakkara will look after the middle order , which will include Angelo Matthews and Prasanna Jayawardane in the lower middle order.

The spin department will be lead by Rangana Herath and will be supported by Dilruwan Perera and the pace department will be in the hands of Nuwan Kulasekera and he will be supported by Nuwan Pradeep and Dhammika Prasad and Chanaka Welegedara.
