As England posted 356 a mammoth target for Pakistan in the fourth ODI  in Dubai they have registered their 10th 300 plus totals of this year which is the most in this calendar year.

However, England have lost four matches out of those 10 matches while South Africa, who have scored 9 three hundred in 2015 have won the all the matches. New Zealand have also been doing well this year as the Down Under team scored three hundred on nine occasions, but lost only two.

Jason Roy’s 102 and Jose Buttler’s 52 balls 116 shepherds England’s innings. England captain Eion Morgan winning the choose to bat first. Opener Alex Hales and Jason Roy put 54 runs from the first wicket partnership. After Hales departure Joe Root has provided good assistance to Roy. Root and Roy shared a 140 run second wicket partnership. Yasir Shah and Azhar Ali took two back to back wickets in 36th and 37th over of the match. England were 201 for 3. Captain Azhar Ali gave another breakthrough in the 41st over as he bamboozled England captain Eion Morgan.

But, the course of a slowly drifting match has changed suddenly as wicket keeper batsman Jose Buttler Batsman hammered the Pakistan bowlers to notched up the fastest ODI century by an England player in ODI cricket. Buttler hit 8 sixes and 10 boundaries. Buttler’s gusty innings helped England to pile up 355 on board losing just 5 wickets.

Pakistan bowlers in the last 58 balls conceded 128 runs.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has overhauled the England ODI team after the lackluster 2015 World Cup performance. The ECB’s selection  committee select players as per the conditions of pitches. They field horse for the courses.

The result of aggressive brand of cricket is tangible as England defeated World Cup semifinalist New Zealand 3-2 at home. Though they lost the ODI series at home to Australia the ODI series victory at UAE is the display of their new approach to the team.

Now England has two teams to surpass the record of the most 300 plus scores in a calendar year. In 2009, India scored ten 300s while Australia scored 11 times in 2007.
