Indian bowler Stuart Binny has broken Anil Kumble‘s record of the best bowling figures in an ODI by an Indian. In the second ODI played against Bangladesh today, Binny took 6 wickets for just 4 runs as India won by 47 runs. Binny, who was not expected to do too well with the ball, excelled and took advantage of the conditions to achieve the new record.

The ball was swinging and seaming around and Binny used it to his best. At one stage, it looked like India would lose the match as they only scored 105. In reply, Bangladesh started well and were in a strong position at 43-2. But then, as luck would have it, Binny struck and stunned everyone with his magical spell.

The record was previously held by Anil Kumble, who had taken 6-12 against West Indies in 1993.
