Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Barinder Sran fined 10% of match-fee

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s left-arm pacer Barinder Sran has been slapped with a fine of his 10 per cent match fee for showing inappropriate behaviour during Sunrisers’ match against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad last night. Sran’s conduct was seen contrary to the spirit of the game by the match referee.

Sran also admitted to the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials) and even accepted the sanction.

For all Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final.

An IPL release later read, Sran pleaded guilty to the offence, but it did not specifically said what it was. However, it is believed that Sran was fined for allegedly sending off Mumbai Indians opener Parthiv Patel.

Sran was first clapping his hands and then showed Parthiv the way back to the dressing room immediately after bowling him with a slower delivery.

Despite Barinder creating controversy with his misbehaviour, it was his three wickets which led Sunrisers’ impressive bowling display as they restricted the defending champions to 142 for 6.

Sunrisers captain David Warner also led from the front with an outstanding unbeaten 90 as Sunrisers Hyderabad convincing defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets to pick up their first win of the IPl-9 season last night.
Chasing a target of 143, Warner perfectly anchored the Sunrisers innings with a cool and calm effort after his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (2) was out in the first over as the home team romped home with 15 balls to spare at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Warner smashed 7 fours and 4 sixes in his 59-ball unbeaten knock as he carried his batting through the innings to guide the Sunrisers bounce back after losing their first two matches.

The stylish Australian actually curbed his aggressive intent initially and then started to hit a flurry of lusty blows towards the end.
