Suresh Raina Gearing Up For Duleep Trophy Clash Between India Blue and India Red

Team India Discard Suresh Raina is gearing up for the Duleep Trophy match between India Blue and India Red which is scheduled to begin tomorrow. There are some big names on all three sides of the tournament, and it will depend on the performance on the day to decide the winners. Meanwhile, Raina who has been out of the national side for a long time is giving his best to force his way back into the national team especially in the limited overs format as he remains a force to reckon.
Taking to his twitter handle, Raina shared a video where he is seen sweating it out in the gym. He does back clutches, push-ups while also lifting some weights in the middle. The southpaw was arguably one of the fittest cricketers in the Indian team, but in the recent, he has put on some weight which hasn’t helped his cause and has affected his fielding.
The agility which Raina showed earlier in his career isn’t there, but he would like to take Duleep Trophy as a significant opportunity to make a comeback in the national team. His batting has been good in the last few matches, and he even proved his mettle in the Indian Premier League, but given the standard of cricket shown by the Indian team in the recent past, it won’t be an easy task for Raina to force his way back.
Raina played his last international match earlier in the year during the home T20I series against England. He scored a fluent half-century in the 2nd T20I and looked in good touch, but to his utter disbelief, he lost his BCCI contract after a few days. A few months later after an impressive performance in the IPL, Raina was named in the list of 5 Stand By List for the ICC Champions Trophy, and though he couldn’t make a comeback, his inclusion was an indication that Raina is still in the scheme of things especially in the limited overs format.
