Tamim Iqbal joins 1000 run club in T20 cricket

The left-handed opener of Bangladesh cricket team Tamim Iqbal became first Bangladeshi batsmen to join the 1000 run club in T20I matches. At the time of writing Tamim was on 16 runs not out (he only required 11 runs to complete the milestone).
In 48 T20I matches played till now he has scored 989 runs at an average of 22.47 with a strike of 111.87. His highest score in T20I is 88*. He made his T20I debut way back in 2007 against Kenya in which he scored 11 runs. He is going through a good form as in two matches played till now in the tournament he has scored 130 runs so far. Bangladesh will be expecting for another quick fire innings from their star batsman so as to win this game to qualify for top 10. His fellow mate Shakib Al Hasan is too in the race of achieving the same feet. He is just 21 runs away from achieving the landmark. Both will be looking to go hard in the match to achieve the ultimate goal to qualify to top 10.

His teammates will be hoping for a big innings from him so as to post a huge total on the board and to win the match to qualify for top 10 stage.
Bangladesh are currently playing an Oman side today and the winner will seal the birth in the top 10 stage.
