Team India Head Coach And Support Staff To Get 10% Hike Next Year

Ravi Shastri, the Head Coach of Indian cricket team along with his support staff is all set to get a hike of 10% in the second year of their service. At present, Shastri is liable to earn an amount of 7-7.5 Crore per annum which will increase by 10% in the month of July next year as per the contract. As per a report in TOI, the members of India A and -19 team staff will also be liable to a hike next year. All the contracts that have been to members of coaching staff at any level have been given after the members had no issues in letting go their IPL contracts. Bharat Arun, R Sridhar, Rahul Dravid, Paras Mhambrey and many other coaches at all levels, were all members of one or the IPL team but now they are not allowed to be the part of that team as per the new rule.

“The coaching staff has been demanding hikes and this is the best way to settle the matter. After finishing one year at work, they would be entitled to get 10 per cent hike in their salary. Which means, if Dravid is paid Rs 4.5 crore for his services to India ‘A‘ and Under-19 teams, he would be getting around Rs 5 crore in his second year,” a source told TOI.

The new contracts for the coaches of India national team were announced on July 18, which will last up to the same date for next two years. This means that the same coaching staff will be there during the 2019 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket team has reached Sri Lanka and they will kick off the practice game from today. India A is all set to leave for South Africa voyage on July 22 whereas India U19 team is already in England to take part in junior Test and ODI series. Dravid will go to South Africa with the India A side.
