Football is on its way to breathe fire in India. Though the bids for the eventual Indian Super League would come under acute criticism of a high-profile seven-member committee, but they are going to check out the document till tomorrow evening ahead of the formal declaration on Sunday.
In accordance with the sources, the committee that includes severe esteemed names from various fields such as sports, law, finance and corporate governance experts ~ will make acquaintance in Mumbai this evening. “A high-profile seven-member committee will rendezvous today evening to open and figure out the second and final set of bid documents.” PTI source confirmed.
“The course of action will get better by Saturday evening and Indian Super League boosters, IMG Reliance officials are assumed to make declarations about the eight winners on Sunday.” The source confirmed.
Cricket celebrities, Bollywood starlets and an innkeeper of corporates are in the brawl to own teams. The nine cities in the computing are Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, and Pune, out of which eight will be selected.
The league, which has been formulated by IMG Reliance along with Star India, has the support of All India Football Federation (AIFF). The league to probably to see mighty names like ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, former Argentina forward Hernan Crespo and England’s Michael Owen.
The bidders belong to various fields, such as two Indian cricket stalwarts, five Bollywood stars, three I-League clubs and five corporate industries.
However, the league appears inimitable in the country once called ‘sleeping giant’ by FIFA president Sepp Blatter. The focus of the league is to promote local talent by staring international celebrities.
Apprehensions around the ISL have likely to ally with the coordinators receiving positive response from more than 30 curios parties to its “Invitation To Bid’ tender notice. The bids finished on March 27.
Approx. 18 to 20 bidders invested their money on ISL either through constructing a conglomerate or individually.
“It would come as a no surprise if one picks up similar high-profile international clubs popping in to India as technical partners to the rest of the franchises. Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham, who are reportedly in the queue ~ are acknowledged for their love for the game and their combination with certain top international clubs.” The source confirmed.
