Three Former Australian Cricketers To Coach Australia A For South Africa Tour

Former Australian star players Jason Gillespie, Brad Haddin and Chris Rogers are bound to coach its Australia A team which is touring for South Africa in the months of July and August to play the series against hosts and India A.
Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager for Team Performance Pat Howard has stated that it would be an interesting deal to induct three-star players to guide the Australian cricket’s next generation which has a lot on an offer.
The former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie, who has also double hundred to his name, has been roped in as Australia A’s chief coach revealed the Australia media.
“It’s extremely pleasing to have three quality people in Jason, Chris and Brad on-board to guide the Australia A squad in their upcoming Tour of South Africa,” Howard was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
The reports revealed that trio is supposed to share the coaching job for Australia youngsters after enjoying best half of their career for the national assignments as players.
“All three have significant experience as players, in varying conditions across the world over their lengthy careers, which will no doubt be invaluable for the players touring with this squad,” Howard added.
According to the fixture, Australia A will face South Africa and India A in tri-nation series which is comprised of four round-robin matches after playing two four-day games against hosts.
“While the squad has yet to be named, it will no doubt feature some of the country’s most talented players, and players challenging for the opportunity to play international cricket for Australia,” Gillespie said.
The 42-year-old Sydney-born Gillespie has also mentored English clubs Yorkshire followed by his stint at Kent. He will be further assisted by his former teammates to nurse the talent before the rookies could cement their place in Australia’s national side.
“This tour will provide those players with the chance to push their claims for those opportunities, and to experience a really high standard of competition and life on the road,” Gillespie remarked.
Wicket-keeper batsman has retired from Test cricket in 2015, alongside top-order batsman Chris Rogers before making their career in the coaching field.
Under the tutelage of Gillespie, Yorkshire had claimed back-to-back trophies in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
“It’s a really exciting time to be involved in Australian cricket, and I can’t wait to join up with the squad and head to South Africa,” Gillespie concluded.
Gillespie played 71 Tests, 97 One-day Internationals and solitary Twenty20 for Australia whereas, Rogers played 25 Tests and Haddin featured in 126 ODIs, 66 Tests and 34 T20Is.
