Since the inception of T-20 cricket, the bowler’s role in T-20 cricket has increased to a great extent. Twenty20 format the bowlers must have an art of taking wickets and controlling the runs, not letting the opponents make huge scores. They have to be consistent with their line and lengths. Bowling in last few overs, known as a death over bowling is a great art as the batsmen would be in killing mood hitting sixes and fours. Spinners will have a task cut out while playing T20s as the batsmen usually target the spinners more than the pacers. Adding to their misery is that nowadays, the sport is being played with shortened boundaries and the wickets too are batsmen friendly.

In T-20 format pacers play an important role. Their role is to intimidate the opening batsmen and make them commit mistakes of edging the ball thus picking wickets at the start.  At the end of the innings, they need to bowl yorkers or variations to deceive the batsmen, minimizing the number of 4’s and 6’s. The bowlers have to bowl four overs only but in those overs the bowlers have to be accurate and does not allow the batsmen to score freely.

Here we look at the top 10 bowlers with most wickets in T-20 cricket from 2005-2015:
