Scoring runs in a test match and making record of highest individual score is already a well known fact. As we know Brian Lara , Mathew Hayden and many are there in the list of cricketer who has scored most run in an innings in international matches. Here we find out list of those players who has scored most number of runs in first class matches.

  1. Brian Lara– The former West Indies cricketer is considered as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He has scored 400 runs in test innings against England. Brian Lara also holds record of highest individual run in first class cricket.Brian Lara scored a monumental 501* against Durham playing for Warwickshire. He crossed the 500-run mark on the last day of the four-day encounter, on 6th June 1994. The knock included 62 fours and 10 sixes. The whole team made a mammoth total of 801 and match was drawn.
  2. Hanif Mohammad– He is a former Pakistani cricketer. He played for Karachi, and in a match against Bhawalpur he scored 499 runs before getting misfortunately run out. Karachi won the match by 479 runs.
  3. Sir Donald Bradman– Former Australian cricketer, who is widely recognized as the best test batsmen of all time. He scored 452* against queensland in the second innings. New South Wales won the match by 685 runs.
  4. Bhausaheb Nimbalkar– He is former  Indian cricketer and is also the only Indian cricketer to be in this list. He batted at number 3 position for Maharashtra. He scored an unbeaten 443, which helped Maharashtra take a massive lead against Kathiwar.
  5. Bill Ponsford– He is a former Australian cricketer. Opening for Victoria he scored 437 runs before getting dismissed against Queensland. This was the second time he scored above 400 runs in four years. His mammoth score helped Victoria to win by 197 runs.
  6. Bill Ponsford– This Australian Batsmen coming in at number 5 again scored 429 runs to guide Victoria to a huge score of 1059 against Tasmania. Victoria won by an innings and 666 runs.
  7. Aftabh Baloch– He is a former Pakistani cricketer who only played two test for Pakistan. In a match between Sind and Baluchistan, Sind middle order batsmen scored 428. Sind went on to win the match by innings and 575 runs.
  8. Archie MacLaren-He is a former England cricketer. He played for Lancashire. MacLaren made a huge score of 424 runs in first innings in a match against Somerset. Lancashire won by an innings and 452 runs.
  9. Graeme Hick– He is a former England cricketer. He played for  Worcestershire and scored 405 runs and his team scored 628 runs. His team beat Somerset by an innings and 204 runs.
  10. Brian Lara– Its again the West Indies batsman who comes last in this list. The man from Trinidad and Tobago made this record in International level. England bowlers were made look like ordinary bowlers as Lara scored 400 runs.
