10. Sir Donald Bradman (Australia): Sir Donald Bradman of Australia was, beyond any argument, the greatest batsman who ever lived and the greatest cricketer of the 20th century. He was, without any question, the greatest phenomenon in the history of cricket, indeed in the history of all ball games. He is standing at the bottom edge of this list (10th position). He scored 304 runs off 473 balls with 43 boundaries and 2 sixes. England won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 200 runs. Australia scored 584 in the first innings. Don Bradman scored that run in just one innings because they have not played the 2nd innings as England scored 229 runs only in 2nd innings and lost the match.

9. Bob Cowper (Australia):  The Left handed Australian batsman Bob Cowper’s score is standing at 9th rank with his 307 runs off 589 balls with 20 boundaries. The test match played in 1965/66. England won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 485 at the end of first innings. Australia managed to score 543 in the first innings with Cowper’s 307 runs. Match was not played and match drawn.

8. Bruce Mitchell (South Africa): The proteas player Bruce Mitchell is standing at number 8 in the list with his 309 runs. England won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 427 runs after the first innings. South Africa scored only 302 with Mitchell’s innings of 120runs off 373 balls. In the second innings England added 325 runs in their account. Mitchell hit another ton (189 runs off 440 balls) in the second innings and South Africa added 423 runs in their account. At the end of the day, match drawn. Mitchell scored total 309 runs in that match.

7. Hashim Amla (South Africa): The seventh highest run is scored by Hashim Amla, 311 runs off 529 balls in 2012.England elected to bat first and scored 385 runs in the first innings. South Africa made 637 runs in the first innings with Amla’s triple century.in the second innings England made 240 but South Africa did not get the chance to bat in second innings.

6. Robert Baddeley Simpson (Australia): the next highest run in the queue is 315 run scored by Robert Simpson in 1964. Australia elected to bat first and scored 656 runs with Simpson’s triple century (311 off 743 balls). England collected 611 runs in the first innings. In the second innings Australia played only one over and Simpson scored only 4 and the day ended and the match.Simpson total got 315 runs from that match.

5. Sir Donald Bradman (Australia): Sir Donald Bradman is again in the list at 5th position for his 321 in 1934. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. He scored in the first innings 244 runs off 271 balls. Australia scored 701 runs in first innings whereas England made only 321. In the second innings Australia scored 327 with Bradman’s 77 runs.

4. Sir Donald Bradman Australia): once again who is considered as the greatest player of the millennium, Sir Donald Bradman is standing at rank 4. He scored 334 runs in the match in 1930. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 566. England made only 391 runs in the first innings and followed on. They batted for consecutive two innings. After the fourth they England was batting and as a result match drawn.  

3. Graeme Smith (South Africa): The match was played at Edgbaston, Birmingham in 2003. Gream Smith scored 277 runs in the first innings and 85 runs in the second innings. The match was drawn. His 362 runs in standing at number 3 position.

2. Brian Lara (West Indies):  Brian Lara with his 375 runs is standing at 2nd position. This match is played at Antigua Recreation Ground, St John’s in 1993/94. Lara scored 375 runs in the first innings and set the score of Caribbean team 593. But Lara did not get the chance to bat in the second innings.
