Top 3 biggest howlers of the day by both the teams

Though Indian team was able to dismiss the West Indies team before they crossed the 250 run mark but seriously saying, this weak Windies batting line is not even worth this total.

The West Indies batsmen were able to post 243 runs on the board riding upon few howlers made by the Indian team. Let us highlight few of those for you so as you could understand that why we are saying this.

This list also includes one of biggest mistake done by a West Indies batsman:

Poor field placements – It was seen that Virat Kohli was concentrating more on tempting the batsman rather than attacking them. The batsmen changed the strategy and were more cautious while facing the Indian bowlers. They did not fell in the rattrap and were dismissed when they were directly attacked. Even though most of the batsmen couldn’t even touch the 20 run mark but as we said they are not even worth this total. Captain Kohli has set the field according to his plans and the Windies players were wary of it. Many times it happened that there were chances created on the field but could not be converted into a wicket due to non-presence of a fielder at that position. As a result, the West Indies batsmen got small chances and they were able to minimise the margin of lead possessed by the Indian team.

Trusting Ishant Sharma (Yes, Virat Kohli, we are looking at you!) – Being the leader of the pace attack, it was the duty of Ishant Sharma to grab as many wickets he can. On the contrary, he went wicketless in the first innings of the West Indies batting innings. We do not deny the fact that he bounced back strongly in the second innings with a wicket in first over itself but it was the duty of Ishant to inform the captain if he was not able to get his rhythm. Ishant went on to bowl maximum overs for India and went wicketless. Though he was one of the miser bowlers for the team but a bowler is judged by the number of wickets in the respective column. We still have one innings more to go and we can expect a turnaround for Ishant Sharma in this innings. The case of Ishant Sharma is being discussed here due to his current form as he could just scalp one wicket in last Test series he played for the Indian team.

Shoulder arms to a straighter one – Carlos Brathwaite, whenever we hear this name it reminds us of the word champion but today his strange act shocked everyone and forced everyone to doubt his credentials. The hero behind the West Indies T20 Word Cup triumph went to leave a straighter one from Umesh Yadav which went onto to make an impact on his stumps thus dismissing him. This was a bizarre way to get out as he could have just touched the cherry but he decided to let it go. Brathwaite is yet to contribute in this game as he has taken 0 wickets and is yet to open his batting account. The all-rounder will be under immense pressure tomorrow.
