Top Three Teams to watch out for in the CLT20
The 2014 T20 is less than ten days away from getting kicked off and the T20 fever has started to grip the fans. A total of twelve teams are participating in the tournament among which only ten will play in the main tournament. Chennai Super Kings looks the most balanced team among the others. As of now, nine teams are qualified for the tournament and two more teams are vying for the remaining one spot, which will be decided by today. Here is the list of three teams to watch out for in the CLT20.
Kings XI Punjab, after failing consistently in the previous editions of the IPL stunned everyone in the 2014 edition as they raced their way into the finals with ease but faltered in the final hurdle to Kolkata Knight Riders. The revamped Kings looked completely a different outfit as the George Bailey led team were ruthless throughout the tournament. They brushed aside each and every team in the tournament with the exception of Kolkata Knight Riders. Kings ridded on their trump card Glenn Maxwell and David Miller throughout the tournament apart from few crucial knocks from Manan Vohra, Virender Sehwag andWriddhiman Saha towards the end. In the bowling department, Akshar Patel starred consistently along with Sandeep Sharma, who will miss the tournament due to injury.
The second team to watch out for in the CLT20 is the South African runners up Cape Cobras. Cape Cobras is all set to miss the services of Jacques Kallis in the CLT20, who chose to represent his IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of his home team Cape Cobras. Inspite of Kallis’ absence, Cobras look a strong team especially in bowling as their pace bowling trio will be Rory Kleinveldt, Charl Langaveldt and Vernon Philander who will be backed by the spinners Dane Piedt and Robin Petersen. Justin Kemp maintains the squad balance as he is their only legitimate All-Rounder. Their batting too looks settled with the likes of Richard Levi, Hashim Amla, Justin Ontong and JP Duminy. There are lot of hopes on Cobras to become the first team from the rainbow nation to win the tournament.
The Aussie Big Bash League’s runners up Hobart Hurricanes is yet another team to watch out for in the CLT20. Once again, George Bailey was the captain of the team from Tasmania in the BBL. But the skipper chose to represent Kings XI instead. They possess a team with a pretty good batting order which will be supported by their strong bowling. Ben Dunk, Tim Paine, Shoaib Malik, Travis Brit and Dom Michaels complete their batting line up and their bowling line up which is spearheaded by Ben Hilfenhaus has Doug Bollinger, Ben Laughlin,Xavier Doherty and Cameroon Boyce in it. The Aussies will look turn things around and will look to become first non-Sydney based Australian side to win the Champions League.
Among the qualifiers, Mohammad Hafeez led Lahore Lions is the one of the teams to watch out for as the Pakistani outfit is the dark horses of the tournament. They are even capable of going all the way to the finals.
