1. Virat Kohli – India
Virat is considered as one of best batsmen in One day Internationals (ODI) in the world today. His ability to score during huge chases makes him a quality player. He holds the record of scoring 20 centuries and 7th in the list of illustrious batsmen in the world. He has a wide range of strokes and if he settles down at the wicket it is difficult to stop him. His highest score has been 183 against Pakistan in 2012. He went with a high reputation to ODI’s in England but was in bad form throughout the series. He returned to form in the ODI’s against West Indies scoring an half century followed by a century to help India win the recently concluded ODI series. 2. Hashim Amla – South Africa
Hashim Amla open the innings for the South African team and gives a solid foundation to post a competitive total. He has been in great form in the past few months in ODI’s. In the series against New Zealand Hashim Amla scored a century in the second match of the series helping South Africa to post a co total of 282. His highest score has been 150 against England in 2012 with 15 centuries to his name. His favorite strokes are the flick, cut and pull.
3. Kumar Sangakkara – Sri Lanka
Sangakkara comes at number 3 for the Sri Lankan team. He takes his time to settle and play according to the situations. He uses his feet to the spinners and dominates the bowling. In the recently concluded tour of England he scored an hundred against England at Lords. He keeps wicket regularly for the team in One day Internationals. His highest score has been 169 with 19 centuries to his name in ODI’s
4. AB De Villiers – South Africa
AB De Villiers is an asset for the South African team. He is the captain of the One day International team. He comes in the middle order and if required comes up to provide the team the impetuous. He is one of the dangerous batsmen in the World at this moment. His favorite strokes are the inside out shot, straight down the ground over the bowler’s head. He makes the bowler think and just not allows him to settle. His highest score has been 146 with 17 centuries to his name.
5. Suresh Raina – India
Suresh is one of the top player for India in shorter format of the game. He has been in great form in England scoring a century. In the recently concluded series against West Indies he played some vital innings in Delhi and Dharamshala. His feet movement against the spinners is brilliant and hits the pace bowlers. Apart from this he is an excellent fielder which can field at any position because of which he is an important member of the team. He is a useful part time bowler for the team used judiciously my M.S Dhoni. His highest has been 116 in 2008.
