The kiwis have been one of the major cricketing nations for the past few decades and New Zealand has produced some brilliant cricketers in the past. To dig deep, we present before you in this article the list of New Zealand Cricketers who have hit most number of sixes in tests. There are some renowned and expected kiwis in the list. Have a look at them:

  1. Chris Cairns: The former New Zealand all-rounder tops the list with 87 sixes in just 104 innings in 62 matches. He was a brilliant all-rounder and has been an iconic player for the Kiwis. He was aggressive with his batting too. The fact is proven from this list. He tops this list. This man has been recognized as one of the best all-rounders of the game. He was the trump card for the kiwis for more than a decade.
  2. Brendon McCullum: The current kiwi captain and also the wicket keeper batsmen is as expected in the top half of this list. He is an aggressive player as we all know. He has hit 68 sixes off 146 innings in tests. His ability of dispatching the ball out of the boundary is known to us. He is one of the few players who scored 150+ runs in a single T20 innings. This speaks much about his class.
  3. Craig McMillan: The former kiwi middle order batsman takes the third position in this list. He has hit 54 sixes in 91 innings. He was a brilliant all-rounder for New Zealand and has won many matches for the kiwis. He came out to bat at the lower middle half of the kiwi innings and was pretty much consistent with his batting.
  4. Tim Southee: Now here comes a surprise entry to this list. The kiwi speedster makes his way in the 4th spot in the top 5 New Zealand batsmen to hit maximum number of sixes in tests. He has hit as many as 45 sixes off 51 innings. To be more specific, Southee has so far faced 994 balls in test cricket and he has hit 45 sixes in those. That is truly an incredible thing. Also, by being a tail-ender batsmen and to hit over 40 sixes in tests requires talent. And from now, Southee might well can be considered as one of the great bowling all-rounders.
  5.  Nathan Astle: He was perhaps one of the best kiwi batsmen. He played with sheer brilliance and dominated over the opposition with his all-round skills in batting, bowling and fielding. He is the holder of many records for New Zealand and here too, he comes 5th in the list. He has hit 39 sixes off 137 innings in 81 matches. He was also quite handy with the ball and was one of the strengths of the kiwi line up a decade ago.
