Under the astute and ever inspiring leadership of MS Dhoni, the men in blue stormed their way to win the T20 Asia Cup in grand style at Mirpur. This is India’s 6th Asia Cup title, and second under Dhoni. India had previously won the title in 2010.

India were dominant throughout the tournament and allowed no side a chance to even come close to them. It was an absolutely perfect campaign for team India.

In the post match presentation, Dhoni stated that his side was on track for the ICC World T20. “Thanks to the top-order batsmen, they have done the bulk of the job, the lower order batsmen just go and do what is needed after that.

It’s looking very good now, we are on track for the World T20,” said Dhoni.

Dhoni also praised pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his efforts and said, “Jasprit, the beauty is that he can bowl yorkers, if you don;t have the yorker you have to try a lot of other deliveries, his slightly different action also helps him a bit.

Hardik can bowl a few overs for us, so if he can give us four in T20s … with his batting and fielding he is a great package.”

Dhoni however, added that considering the current team combination, it was difficult to promote southpaw Yuvraj Singh to number 4. “Looking at this team it is tough to give Yuvi the no.4 slot, but he has adjusted … 13-14 players they are all match-winners, that is the beauty of the side, everyone is taking responsibility to finishing the game.”
