Sanjay Manjrekar said that the losses in T20 and ODI series may make India desperate enough to roll rank turners in at least one of the matches of upcoming test series and Manjrekar said that South Africa does not have enough experience on these kinds of tracks.
The South Africa team has strong pace bowling line up comprising of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander is the backbone South Africa attack and Manjrekar feels that the nature of the pitch and lack of assistance from conditions could hamper Morkel and Philander effectiveness.
South Africa does not have a good quality spin attack with Imran Tahir, Harmer and Pidet forming the spin attack. The Indian team must prepare spin pitches so that it can aid Indian spin bowlers comprising of Ashwin, Mishra and Jadeja.
The South African team is not good players of spin. Apart from De Villiers and Hashim Amla no other player has played on Indian soil. The Indian spinners had a great outing in Sri Lanka and the pressure falls on the Indian spinners to take most of the wickets and put pressure on the South African batting line.
South Africa might be missing Duminy in the first test due to an injury and his absence will hurt South Africa chances.
India’s chances in the series will depend on how the spinners and preparing pitches which will assist the slow will give a great chance for hosts to beat the number 1 ranked test team in the world.
