Although team India has lost the only T-20 played in England yesterday by a narrow margin of just 3 runs in a most sensational encounter, but for Virat Kohli the event proved very fruitful. Not only has he gained his lost form but his sparkling batting resulting in dashing 66 runs of 41 balls has again reestablished him. He displayed his immense batting talent by hitting 9 fours and a remarkable six. His aggression was visible quite clearly when he smashed 3 successive boundaries in an over.
This happened to be his 9th half century. Now Virat Kohli has become the Indian Batsmen with most number of half centuries in T-20s. Earlier Yuvraj Singh was holding the record of 8 half centuries. Kohli was being criticized as a non performer recently but his sensational comeback, a much needed move for Team India will surely provide a big relief to the managers.
Incidentally, with his wonderful knock of 66 runs, Virat Kohli has also created another record of scoring the most runs, 971 by any Indian in T-20s. Earlier Yuvraj Singh was holding this record with highest 939 runs scored by any Indian batsman in this format of the game.
Also, Virat Kohli is now the highest run getter that is 184 in T-20 between England and India. He has got a splendid average of 30.66 in 6 matches including a fifty. Let us hope that hence forth Virat Kohli will always provide us glorious moments on the field through his fire brand batting. The world cup is waiting.
