My Ultimate Goal Is To Play All Formats For New Zealand: Mark Nicholls

New Zealand batsman Henry Nicholls wants to make a comeback to the One-Day International setup after giving his best in the domestic season for Canterbury, before admitting his ultimate goal is to feature in all formats for the Kiwis.
“FOR ME, I’M STILL TRYING TO GET BETTER AND IMPROVE MY GAME. YOU ALWAYS WANT TO PLAY ALL THREE FORMS. YOU WANT TO PLAY AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. THAT’S ABSOLUTELY A GOAL OF MINE,” NICHOLLS WAS QUOTED AS SAYING BY STUFF.CO.NZ
Top-order batsman Nicholls would be battling against the likes of Neil Broom and Tom Bruce to cement his place in the team.
Christchurch-born Nicholls made his international debut against Sri Lanka in December 2015 and from there on, he has played 11 Tests and 11 ODIs followed by a single Twenty20 game against Bangladesh in March last year.
“WHEN YOU COME BACK TO THE DOMESTIC LEVEL, IT’S JUST TRYING TO DOMINATE, REALLY. YOUR ONLY CURRENCY IS REALLY RUNS,” NICHOLLS ADDED.
Nicholls has performed well in the ongoing Ford Trophy season and would aim to give his best in the final on Saturday.
Canterbury mentor Brendon Donkers said Nicholls is a good player of a spin and he would be a great asset for the Kiwis in middle-order.
“THERE ARE SOME GOOD PLAYERS IN THAT BLACK CAPS’ SIDE, BUT HENRY WOULDN’T BE OUT OF PLACE IN THAT MIDDLE ORDER,” DONKERS REMARKED.
Nicholls had a good outing against Bangladesh in Christchurch and Wellington Tests.
However, he has been overlooked by the selectors for the T20I and ODIs against South Africa.
