Umesh Yadav has silenced all his critics after he was not picked in the Indian Playing XI for the ongoing 2nd Test match against South Africa at Bengaluru. He has picked a hat-trick against Rajasthan on the first day of the Test match, bundling Rajasthan for just 216 runs in their first innings. The match was being played at Nagpur and Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bat first.

But the notable fact here was that all the 3 in the hat-trick were lower order batsman. Yadav finished with an innings figure of 4-45. Earlier Umesh played in the 1st Test match but then had to make way for Ishant Sharma after the latter came back from the 1 match ban which was put on him during the Test match against Sri Lanka.

Umesh had earlier scored his maiden Test century in this year’s Ranji season. to be fair to Umesh, he didn’t get his share of oppurtunities in the 1st Test match against South Africa as the pitch assisted the spinners and they did the major damage. However, he looked good in the short spells which he came in for. Varun Aaron was preferred over him in the 2nd Test match
