Veteran Spinner Harbhajan Singh To Lead Punjab In Zonal T20 League

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh will lead Punjab in a zonal T20 league with all-rounder Gurkeerat Mann has been named as his deputy. Punjab will start their campaign at Amtar in Himachal Pradesh from January 29.
It was decided last year by the BCCI to scrap Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and instead start an inter-zonal T20 tournament, where states of a particular would first square-off against each other before advancing to the main inter-zonal tournament.
The senior selection committee of Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) met in Mohali on Monday to pick the squad, which saw India’s first hat-trick taker in Tests cementing his place as the skipper. All the matches of the north zone will be held in Himachal Pradesh.
Post their first encounter, Punjab will next face Delhi on January 30 at Dharamsala, followed by matches against Services (February 1) and hosts Himachal (February 2) in coming days.
Harbhajan Singh, last played for India in the Asia Cup, which was held in a T20 for the first time in Bangladesh last year.
