During the 34th match of the IPL 8 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Faf du Plessis got run-out in a bizarre fashion that probably turned the match in SRH’s favour. 

Chasing a humongous total of 193, CSK were well placed at 110/3 in 12 overs. Ashish Reddy came in to bowl and on the fourth ball of the 13th over, Dhoni hit a straight shot that hit du Plessis’ hand and got deflected towards the umpire, Faf was already out of his crease backing up, a couple of steps towards Dhoni as he sensed the possibility of stealing a run. 

Reddy then showed presence of mind as he ran back to collect the ball from his follow through position, and hit the stumps to find du Plessis well short of his crease. Probably one of the most unfortunate and bizarre ways in which we have seen a player get out.
