It was not the biggest game to bid adieu to India’s most decorated skipper but MS Dhoni’s fans made sure to make him cherish every moment of the practice match between India A and England.
Right from the word go, thousand of fans, who had left their work to see a practice match on a working day, went berserk with chants of “Dhoni, Dhoni, Dhoni” which only grew louder as Dhoni walked out for the toss one last time in an Indian jersey. And Dhoni made sure to thank his fans for showering their unconditional love on him throughout his career. He also said that the game would not be his last as a skipper as he looks forward to leading Rising Pune Supergiants in the IPL and Jharkhand.
Speaking at the toss, the outgoing limited-overs skipper said:“It’s a special game, my last game as [India] captain but I’ll be captaining in IPL & probably Jharkhand as well”
“It’s just a warm-up game and fans are still excited to see me. This shows how much they love me. I thank them all.” Dhoni added.
