Video: When a furious Virender Sehwag gave the Australian bowlers a piece of his mind

India-Australia rivalry is one of the best in the game. The games between the two teams are characterized by banter, sledging, altercations and obviously world-class cricket.

And one such match was witnessed when India were playing against Australia in Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2011. Tensions and emotions were running high through all the players after two controversial decisions on the first day of the Test. The match got all spicier when Indian batsman Virender Sehwag and Australian fast bowler James Pattinson were involved in a heated exchange.

The incident happened early during India’s innings. Sehwag played a ball from Pattinson down to fine leg and ran for a single but while taking the single, he narrowly avoided the protruding arm of Pattinson, on his follow through. Angry with the incident, Sehwag walked up to the young fast bowler and gave him a piece of his mind. The incident turned ugly when Sehwag waggled his bat towards the bowlers. Soon, Peter Siddle joined the altercation to support Pattinson but Sehwag used his willow to direct him back to his fielding position. But the on-field umpire intervened in time to control the situation.

Well, the Australian pacer had the last laugh when he dismissed the batsman four overs later. The hosts went on to win the match by 122 runs.
