During the 2nd Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the SSC, Colombo in 2014, some innovative thinking combined with great athletism from Kaushal Silva resulted in the dismissal of Pakistan batsman Younis Khan.

Younis played a forward defence to a Rangana Herath delivery, which saw the ball hit his boot and pop up to Silva at silly point. Silva was unaware that the ball had hit the boot and in an attempt to run the batsman out, who was outside his crease, threw the ball to wicket-keeper Niroshan Dickwella who held on to the catch without any fuss.

Replays showed that the ball had made no contact with the ground and Younis was on his way back to the pavilion. Here is the exclusive footage of that catch
