West Indies dragged India to draw the match on the fifth day of the second Test. West Indies in the first innings got all out for 196. In reply to their total, India posted 500 on the board and got a 304 runs lead.
KL Rahul scored a brilliant hundred while Ajinkya Rahane’s late surge helped India to post a big total.
In the second innings, Indian bowler Ishant Sharma gave India the first breakthrough as Rajendra Chandrika played on to an Ishant Sharma delivery.
Mishra gave India the next breakthrough by taking the wicket of Kraig Brathwaite.
But it was bowler Mohammad Shami whose bowling gave India goosebumps. Shami first rattled Marlon Samuels who was troubled by a length delivery from Bengal Pacer.
Darren Bravo was the next victim of Shami as he bowled a perfect short pitch delivery which Darren Bravo edged and was caught by KL Rahul at slip.
However, West Indies turned their fortune around as Roston Chase scored an unbeaten 137 run innings while, Jermaine Blackwood 63, Shane Dowrich 74 and captain Jason Holder scored unbeaten 64 runs to frustrate India.
In the last session of the match, India failed to take a single wicket as Holder and Chase were vigilant against Indian bowlers.
