Indian batsman MS Dhoni is known for his unique batting style. He often comes up with the unorthodox shots that will either stun you or make you laugh.
Dhoni has played 90 Test matches for India. He retired from Test cricket in 2015 when India lost to Australia. Dhoni during his career played some unorthodox shots, but he is a prolific run-scorer in ODI cricket.
He has won the 2007 WT20 in South Africa, 2011 World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy and also held the No. 1 position in Test cricket for 18 months.
Dhoni will be remembered as one of the best captains of India.
In modern day ODI cricket, he has become one of the best finishers of all time. His last remarkable finish came against South Africa in Indore when India’s top order had gone to the dressing room even before scoring 150, Dhoni came at the crease played with one and twos and then launched a storm against South African bowlers to post a respectable total.
India won the match as Dhoni’s captaincy helped bowlers to rattle, the South African batsmen. However, at the end, South Africa won the series by 3-2.
During a home Test series against the West Indies, Dhoni tried to play a reverse paddle shot but as the going outside leg stump he ended up playing a conventional paddle dab. The shot doesn’t make any sense.
But this shot stuns commentator Sunil Gavaskar, he said, “what shot was that? We will have to find a description of it.”
