Netherlands cricketer Pieter Seelaar took a stunning catch during their last WT20 2016 game against Ireland at Dharamsala on Sunday.
It was the Group A match between Netherlands and Ireland. Both the teams were already ruled out from the WT20 2016. In a rain-interrupted match, the Netherlands (59/5 in 6 overs) put 60 run target for Ireland in 6 overs.
It was the 3rd overs of Ireland innings when they were 28/1 and dangerous Irish batsman Kevin O’Brien was facing Netherlands pacer Paul van Meekeren.
It was the 2.2 overs when Kevin O’Brien played a pull shot. Netherlands cricketer Pieter Seelaar was standing at deep mid-wicket while he ran to his left side for that catch and made a dive to take that catch. Seelaar was successful to take the catch just before the ball was to touch the ground. It was a spectacular effort.
The catch proved a game changer as Netherlands won that match by 12 runs. This catch is one of the best catch in WT20 history and surely is going to the nomination list for the catch of the WT20 2016 tournament.
