It is quite absurd to think that Rahul Dravid has done something in T20I that even the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina have failed to do.
In his debut and unfortunately last T20I match against England, the Wall, as he is fondly called for his solid batting, Dravid smashed 3 sixes on 3 balls in a row. The man,who holds the record of playing most number of balls in Test cricket, was rarely seen taking the aerial route in his 16 years of international career. While his ability to play aggressively was never in doubt as he had previously hit a 22 ball fifty but three consecutive sixes was something that not even his die-hard fans would have expected. But with the class that the man possess, nothing is tough for him to achieve with the willow.
Coming to the 3 sixes, it was England’s left-arm spinner Samit Patel who bore the brunt of Dravid’s aggressive batting. For the first one, Dravid cleared his front leg to hit the ball over long-on. On the next delivery he stepped out to clear long-on once again, followed by a six over the deep square-leg boundary. Twenty-two runs came off the over. The legendary batsman’s T20I batting career lasted only 21 deliveries yet a memorable one.
