On Sunday, the cricket fraternity was left startled and shell-shocked by the acrobatic efforts of Temba Bavuma, who in a period of just 0.264 seconds did the fastest thing, he might have ever done in his life. On the Day 3 first Test between Australia and South Africa, Bavuma, who was placed in the 30-yard circle, launched himself onto the ball like a space shuttle gobbling on it like it is the last thing left on the earth to eat but threw it away after realising that it is a bomb and not an apple.
There are no words to describe the brilliant effort from Bavuma, who really left people in awe by his fielding skills.
The former Australian batsman, Michael Slater, explained the whole scene which cost Warner his wicket. We all know that a delay of millisecond cost Warner his wicket but Slater watched it through different eyes. He explains Warner went on the backfoot to play the shot, that resulted in a delay of few seconds, as a result, he was late in leaving his crease, resulting in a difference of a meter or so.

Explaining the brilliance of Bavuma, he said the fielder was all set to go at the ball, his readiness to launch on the ball was the skill which eclipsed Warner skills in running between the wickets. The backfoot shot was the reason of delay. Warner had to move backward whereas Bavuma had to run forward, this game of going front and back resulted in delay, explained Slater.
As said earlier, Bavuma took no time to collect the ball and just threw it away, this thing proved to be the biggest thing going in favour of Bavuma. This fielding effort reminded many of Jonty Rhodes, who had the same calibre but Jonty now might also doubt his skills after watching this act of bravura from Temba Bavuma.
